Grand Knight’s Message

Dear Brother Knights:

First of all I want to wish Mark and his family the best during their new voyage to Maine. Mark and his family served this council well and I pray for their safety and that I can continue the work that Mark started here within our St Anastasia Council #13453.

As your newly elected Grand Knight, I want to thank every member of the St. Anastasia Knights of Columbus for the support and continued help to our Church, Community, Council, Family, Youth, and Right to Life, programs.  These are tough times for people that are struggling for many reasons within our community and even in our own families. The economy is still effecting us all. It is a pleasure to be part of this great organization so we can bond together to help in so many ways. Thank you all.

We have completed our first two pancake breakfasts for this year, we have handed out 144 advent wreaths to parish families and all the members of the RCIA Class, we have contributed to our Youth, Veterans, and Right to Life activities, and we have completed hanging the Christmas lights on the church property. In 2010 many exciting thing will be happening. “Our pancake breakfasts, Free Throw Contest, Food Drives, Youth dinner, Tootsie Roll Drive, and many activities focused around helping our St. Anastasia Parish”. If anyone is interested in helping with any of these activities please contact one of our officers. I will be sending out an updated committee list of all activities that we are planning for the next year. There are open positions for Chairmen within some of these activities.

If you know of anyone that would like to join the Knights of Columbus (the world’s largest Catholic fraternal organization) please give them the information needed to join. If anyone has any questions please call me at 248-250-7085. There are two items that you should have with you at all times – your Rosary and a form 100.

Vivat Jesus,

Grand Knight - Gary Parent

Financial Secretary

We will be sending our membership renewals for 2010. You can save our Council postage costs by personally renewing at the business meetings on the second Monday of each month or at the Social meeting on the fourth Monday of the month. Annual dues are $36.00 with voluntary contributions of $12 for the Father McGivney Chair of Life Ethics at Sacred Heart Major Seminary as well as $5 for the MI State Council Take Five Program that supports MI charities. Please get your dues in ASAP. Thank you

Financial Secretary – Joe D’Anna

Note: Your GK is well aware of the financial hardship that has gripped some Knights and their families due to Michigan’s struggling economy. If you are one of these Knights, please contact me to work out an alternative plan.
